Forgot your password for Facebook, Gmail or any other website?

So you can’t login to your favorite website anymore eh? Well you have two options, create a new account or retrieve your password. The first option is not usually ideal so lets go through how you can change/reset/retrieve your password.

We are going to use Facebook as an example, replace Facebook with the website of your choice.

Step 1. Go to the website you are trying to access, in this case we are going to www.Facebook.com

Step 2. Look around the login fields, the place where you type in your username and password, and you should find something that says “Forgot your password?”
Other sites may word this a little differently such as “reset password” “Can’t login?” “Unable to login?”

Step 3. You should get prompted for your email address associated with the account. Enter in your email address and click OK.

Step 4. Check your email for the the password reset/recovery message. If you do not see it, check your junk/spam folders. If you still can’t find it, wait about 20 minutes and check again. These things can take some time to send out but are usually instant.

Step 5. Once you have the email, open it. Inside you will either find your password or a link to reset it. In most cases it will be a link so go ahead and click on it. You should now be at a webpage asking for you new password. Type in whatever you would like your new password to be.

Step 6. Go back to the website we just reset the password to and login with your new password!

At some point in that process you may be asked security questions that you setup while making the account. They are things like, what was your favorite teachers name? What was the name of your first pet?

We hope that helps you out, if it does please share this page!
